Max & Anna Schwartz
It is very hard to tell when Max Schwartz and Anna Balyetsky landed in Boston. The best guess is around 1875, shortly before they got married. They apparently came from “Pale of Settlement” region of Russia Max started his career as a tailor, but he amassed some properties and eventually listed his occupation as real estate. They somehow were able to send four sons to MIT. Several of the children remained unmarried or ended up with no offspring
- Goldie Schwartz married and lived in Boston before dying at an early age of tuberculosis.
- Lewis Schwartz lived in the New York City area and worked as a chemist.
- Benjamin Schwartz also settled in Brooklyn, NY. He married, but disappeared around 1920.
- Myra Schwartz settled in Worchester, MA and worked as an office manager.
- Esther Schwartz settled in NH. According to one accord she was the musical one.
